BEST HARDSTYLE SCREECH TUTORIAL | How to Make a Hardstyle Screech (FL Studio)

In this lesson you’ll learn how to make a Sylenth1 hardstyle screech in FL Studio. It’s a typical “hoover screech” that’s actually part of the hardstyle basics. These types of screeches are used in many tracks from the early days till now.

Basic hoover screech

In a previous post, you can learn another hoover screech lesson. It’s a Hardstyle Screech Tutorial with the same essential fundamentals.

The big benefit of these basics is that they’re forming an easy baseline for you to fall back onto, without sacrificing quality. They’re also very easy to learn and implement, which gets you to a high level very quickly.

Making a hoover screech

To make a basic hoover screech, use 1 or 2 oscillators with 6-8 voices and go wild with the detune knobs. Then use the pitch envelope to give the sound a pitch slope. Optionally, add a chorus or pitch LFO with a pretty fast rate for even more detune and screaming.

On the mixer, use an equalizer to shape and balance the sound. Add some highs, remove some lows, and of course a distortion to crank up the aggression.

It’s a very simplified explanation, but really, this is it. Basics shouldn’t be complicated. Simple things are easier to learn and faster to apply.

The hardstyle screech is a free download

Officially, the hardstyle screech in this video is a free download. Later I decided to include many of my screeches in a Hardstyle Sample Pack and share it for free. You can download this pack by clicking the link.

Best hardstyle screech you say?

Yes, that’s what the title of the lesson says. It definitely is a good hardstyle screech tutorial, but it’s not a complicated one or spectacular one. For a basic hoover screech it’s really good, high quality and very useful.

And I agree, it’s a little bit of title-tweaking. To reach people with my lessons, titles are important. If it triggers something in a viewer, it’s more likely he/she ends up watching or reading my content. This is good for everybody, because I strongly believe my content can offer valuable insight to many people.

As long as there are good intentions, a little bit of click-bait-ish titles are okay.
