BUILDING A HARDSTYLE KICK IN FL STUDIO | Sylenth1 Hardstyle Kick

In this lesson, you’ll get to hear a hardstyle kick tail and a mixer effects chain of how it’s built. It’s a quick flyover, but you might still learn a thing or two.

There will be more hardstyle kicks with a more in depth look at different settings in later video lessons.

It’s about the mixer effects

For this particular hardstyle kick, it’s mostly important to view the mixer effects chain and to look at which effects make up this tail.

The first step is always to have a 909-ish signal. This 909-ish signal can come from any plugin. I choose for Sylenth1. It’s not really important which plugin you use for that.

Once you have a 909-ish signal, you can feed it into a free mixer track. In the mixer track you can now add the effects.

This will always be a playful game to shape and tweak your sound a certain way. But in general you always want to use EQ’s and distortion plugins. Often a reverb works really well too.

The mixer effects that make this hardstyle kick

For this kick, I used the mixer effects below. They’re FL Studio plugins only.

  • Fruity Waveshaper
  • Fruity Parametric EQ 2
  • Fruity Reeverb 2
  • Fruity Compressor
  • Fruity Love Philter
  • Fruity Fast Dist

Bear in mind that this isn’t a complete hardstyle kick. It’s a presentation of how to build a hardstyle kick TAIL. It’s not a finished product.
