BEST HARDSTYLE KICK | How to Make a Hardstyle Kick in FL Studio Like a Pro (Tutorial) | Tail ONLY!

In this lesson you’ll learn how to make a hardstyle kick with FL Studio stock plugins ONLY. Keep in mind that this hardstyle kick tutorial only shows the TAIL part of the kick.

Hardstyle kick basics

The kick in this video isn’t finished yet. It still needs a fresh low end (sub bass) and a “tok” (attack or punch). It may also need some extra layering. However, building the tail is often the hardest part. It’s basically always the starting place and the biggest challenge.

That’s why this lesson is part of the essential basics. If you want to make your own hardstyle kicks, the tail is the most important part. The settings and effects chain in this video, will help you get there.

In the video I simply show all the effects and settings that creates this hardstyle kick. Use it as important information to build your own. Watch it as many times as you need. You have to practice this.

Play with your hardstyle kick

At the end of the video, I play around with the tail. I often do this to get a feel for the quality of the tail. If it sounds nice and crunchy on different notes, it’s probably a good tail.

I also shorten the kick, because it is a little bit too long. That’s something you can always do to make it “loop” better. Simply use the “MUL” knob on your Sampler and set the Mode to “Mono” (monophonic).

Hardstyle kick with FL Studio plugins

As mentioned earlier, this hardstyle kick is made with FL Studio stock plugins ONLY. This shows that you don’t need Logic or any other third-party software to create them. You simply have to get a “feel” or understanding how to make a hardstyle kick in FL Studio. That’s why I’m sharing these lessons.

In other lessons, I often also mainly use FL Studio plugins. They’re very good, light weight and get the job done. This also helps the people that don’t have any third-party plugins. In fact, it might save you some money!

This hardstyle kick is a free download

The hardstyle kick tail sample from the video is a free download. I added it to my free Hardstyle Sample Pack along with many other samples.
